Because my type of illustrations always require a background (be it a pattern or a building's façade), I prepare in advance sketches (to be vectorized digitally) that I use at a later stage for a particular illustration. When not working on a specific project in fact, I am always working at some piece of architecture or experimenting on new patterns. In my work I also like series (variations on a theme, if you like), particularly when I am especially fond of a subject (which is the case with women). This is exactly what happened with 'American in Paris II', which also includes my favorite colors: black, red, all shades of warm grey and white. The original drawing, starting from which this illustration was built is also available upon request (its size is an A4 sheet on Canson Bristol, 180gsm paper). The mixed media illustration is available as limited edition giclée on Hahnemühle William Turner matte paper.
