This piece was done during a period when I worked with traditional, transparent watercolor. In this process, no white is used. Instead, the painter allows the white of the paper to show through. I sold most of the work from this period, but still have a few left, including this one that is framed. The painting shows an apartment where I lived in Connecticut with beautiful fir floors. I am still very pleased at the way I was able to capture the warmth of those floors using the watercolor process.
