The series of Brief History No.1, No.2 & No.3 evolved through our Open Studio exhibition (sept 2018). The studios are in the remaining site of The Great Western Cotton Factory. The subject of 'Cotton' was given to the exhibition. I decided to incorporate everyday clothes made from cotton into my artwork. Playing with the idea of history, time and stories forgotten. The finished artwork is suggestive of a polished fossil trapped in time. The piece is made out of Jesmonite (a gypsum-based material in an acrylic resin) and has a simple wooden frame.
